Chapter 381: Silver Knight.
Chapter 381: Silver Knight.
Valerian defeated the leader of the Avion Party with one punch in front of all the dungeoneers of the city. The young man gazed at everyone and said, "The dungeon is the source of life. If you do not wish to have your life controlled by someone else, then it is your choice, but do not hinder the rest."
He grabbed Lex’s head from his hair and made him gaze up. He said, "If I heard someone was coerced into joining your party, I would come for you and all your cronies. Do you understand?"
His cold voice and indifferent gaze made the man shiver. He could swear that he had never faced such a terror. He nodded again and again. At this moment, he has even forgotten about his son, Maximus.
Valerian left him and walked away from the scene. The people parted to give him way as a show of respect. The young man did not forget to greet Adler with a bow. The old man nodded with a wide smile on his face. From now onward, if anyone tries to mess with Valerian, they will think thrice.
The crowd vanished, and the word spread. Many Avion party members left to seek their adventures. The ones coerced into joining went to find the interim guild leader and sued the guild leader and many of the top brass. Maximus tried to vent his anger and was killed in an internal fight.
Two days later, Lex was found hanging in the courtroom of the Avion Party manor. Valerian did not take any action, but his action triggered a domino effect that led to the dispersal of the Avion Party.
A few big parties in the city tried to fight for the top spot, but none followed the norms again.
Valerian returned to his daily life as if he was not related to any of this. He dedicated one day of the week to the craftsman guild. The young man shocked the city with his weapons. His fame and wealth rose prominently.
The young man would take a few days off to rest or visit the village. He did not visit Wen and Zen, but he would watch over them from a distance.
Zen was very similar to how his mother looked like. He missed his people and family to refresh the memory he had of them. He was afraid that he would forget about the people he cherished. Shiba knew about this fear of his, and so she supported him.
Time went by, and Valerian had reached the seventieth floor with his friends. They had just finished killing the boss of this floor. The creature was a mix between a spider and a scorpion. It moved very quickly too.
Till now, only a few people knew what lay beyond the seventieth floor. Those who knew about the situation had already retired. Valerian and his team were the first batch to have cleared this floor.
It means they will be entering uncharted territory where the chances of death are very high. The young man pulled his sword out of the head of the beast and said, "I think we should descend to the next floor and then go out to find the details of what might lay there?"
Shiba nodded as she sprawled on the ground and said, "Val, I am feeling so old."
Valerian chuckled and shook his head. Captain hauled his shield, and the young man said, "We all are old, except for this monster. Look at his physique, and it has completely changed."
Valerian narrowed his eyes at him and said, "Can you stop jinxing my fitness?"
Viney chuckled at the side and said, "Old bones, let’s go."
Valerian and the rest left to descend to the lower level. However, the scene was different from what they expected. This floor was not dark. On the contrary, it was brightly lit. Valerian was baffled and turned his head to look at the sky.
Shiba asked, "What the fuck is this place?"
Captain said, "There is no sun in the sky. What is the source of light?"
Viney gulped and said, "Guys, screw the sun and the moon. Can you all not see those things running over?"
Valerian turned to look in that direction and said, "We need to leave."
The people spotted a herd of creatures running over to them. Shiba took out the bugle, and they all jumped into the portal, leading them back to the first floor. Valerian shook his head and sighed, "I wonder what were the high gods even thinking when they created all these creatures."
Shiba nodded, and the team located the exit to leave the place. When they came out, a lot of people greeted them. They were called the lead party. After many years, these four people were the ones to have entered the depths of the dungeon. The second-best team was still stuck on the sixtieth floor.
Over the years, Valerian has encountered many parties in trouble, saving many of them. However, he was not naive to trust them all. He did not wish to form ties with the people in this world. He had enough baggage for one life.
The party was headed to the home, while Valerian headed to the Dungeoneer Guild. He wanted to find all the details about the situation on the seventy-first floor as soon as possible.
The moment he entered the guild building, his eyes were focused on him. The people murmured, "Look, that is the Silver Knight."
Valerian wanted to roll his eyes at this. If he could, he would like to find the person who dubbed him as the silver knight. What was even wrong with the people? They called him Silver Death back on Vita, and here it is, the Silver Knight.
The young man shook his head, and taking off the sling bag from his shoulder, he came to the table. Prim was sitting behind the desk and going through a few documents. She said, "Val, did you finish the task?"
She did not need to look at who it was. The sudden silence was enough indicator. The young man replied, "Hmm, found the floor boss, finished it."
He kept his voice low, but the spectators were paying him so much attention that they heard everything clearly, and after a momentary silence, they all began to exclaim. Prim raised her head and said, "Do I have to repeat the rules?"
The crowd immediately fell silent, and the lady said, "Val, next time, tell me to take you to the secluded room."
The young man scratched the back of his head and asked, "Can you tell me about the seventy-first floor?"
Prim nodded and went to the shelf placed behind her. She came back after a few minutes, carrying a book in her hands. This journal was not half as thick as what Valerian was used to. He guessed that the details about the deeper floors were not too much.
Prim dusted the book and turned it open. She began to read the content, "The floors beyond level seventy are all called isolated floors. These floors contain one kind of beast only, and these beasts are your objective. One must kill these beasts to clean the floors and find the door to the next level.
It may seem easy but know that these creatures can range from a hundred to thousands. If you come across a single entity from these floors, know that you must not take it lightly."
Prim glanced at Valerian and said, "I hope you got the gist?"
The young man nodded, and the lady continued, "The creature on the seventy-first floor is called lightning centaur. They possess the power to control lightning and are extremely powerful. To avoid dying instantly, it is suggested you divide the herd and they fight them in small numbers. Prajna wood can be used to deflect the lightning."
The lady left the counter again and found the details about this prajna wood. This material was found on floor number fifty-three. Valerian nodded and said, "I would like to put out a task. People can procure this wood for me. I will give twenty gold coins for five kilograms. Is that enough?"
The lady nodded and immediately posted a task under his name. The young man finished dealing with the stuff and left the guild building. He found Taurus talking to someone. He did not bother, but the young man caught his silhouette and rushed to him.
"Master Val! Master Val! Please wait." Taurus chased after the young man.
Valerian stopped and turned to face him. The young man was very respectful to him ever since Adler told him to learn from Valerian. In a way, Taurus was Valerian’s apprentice.
The young man said, "Master, can I ask for your help?"
Valerian was about to refuse when the person behind Tauras came forward and said, "Silver Knight, please save my sister. I beg you."
The young man with silver hair froze in the spot when he saw this face. He mumbled, "Mother Diligentia?"
