Valerian, The Legendary

Chapter 364: Shocking Pace.

Chapter 364: Shocking Pace.

Captain brought Valerian to the registration counter and asked the lady standing behind, "Miss Prim, can you help register a new dungeoneer, please?"

Miss Prim raised her head to look at him. Valerian realized why Captain was being so polite to this lady. She had a cold gaze. It was like a chill that froze her soul. Valerian did not avoid her gaze and placed his hands in front of his waist before he bowed and greeted the lady.

The lady nodded slightly and said, "Your identification papers?"

Valerian nodded and swiftly took out the letter from his bag. Prim accepted the paper, and then she gave it a thorough look. She asked, "Why was this paper issued just a few days ago?"

Valerian replied, "The village chief is old, and most people spend their entire lives inside the village. I am the first person who came out, so he wrote this for me."

Prim nodded, and then she took out a register from the side. Then made a few notes before she said, "You will be given a level one status, and you will have to complete one mission in a week to maintain the membership status."

Valerian nodded, and Prim continued, "For the information you will need for the mission, you can ask a guild manager when you come here to accept the task."

The young man nodded, disregarding the surprise in the eyes of the people around them. Prim stopped speaking, and Valerian asked, "Ma’am, can I use the forging room in the guild?"

A surprising glint flashed through her eyes, and Prim nodded as she said, "You will have to pay one silver coin for half a day. If you use any metal inside, you must also pay for that."

Valerian nodded and took out a silver coin. Prim nodded and directed him with her finger. Valerian turned around and said, "Follow me."

Shiba and the rest nodded, and Prim said, "When you are done inside the forging room, you can find me here and collect your membership card."

Valerian nodded and bowed slightly as he said, "Thank you, Ma’am."

Prim nodded and went back to her work. The group of four navigated around the first floor as they found the forging room. Valerian closed the door after everyone entered and said, "You need to pay for the material I will use. I only had two coins, and I spent one of them. You can deduct it from the payment."

The three of them stood motionless. Valerian snapped his fingers and exclaimed, "HEY!"

The three people reacted, and Captain asked, "What did you do?"

Valerian looked at him in askance, and the man said, "You are the first person Miss Prim has ever talked this much with."

The young man shook his head and said, "I do not have time to waste on such trivial things. Move."

The three people saw Valerian place his bag to the side and take off his armor. The young man did not mind the presence of two ladies. His body was akin to a chiseled piece of stone. He lit a fire in the forge and picked up a few pieces of metal. He asked, "What do you guys need the most?"

Viney said, "A bow and an armguard."

Shiba said, "A long sword."

Captain stated, "Ummm, A full body shield if possible."

Valerian looked at the blocks and said, "Sword first."

Then he weighted the metal in his hand and gazed at Shiba before saying, "According to your body proportions, the idol sword size should be three feet and seven inches long. Since you lack strong muscles on your back and arm, your blade shall be light weighed and agile."

Shiba nodded repeatedly with stars in her eyes. This was indeed the idol proportion for her sword. Valerian had placed the metal in the forge. He then began sorting out more metal for the rest of the weapons.

After a few minutes, he picked up a pair of tongs, removed the hot metal, and moved it to the anvil. The people had no idea what he was doing. However, Valerian picked up a hammer from beside the anvil and, after weighing it. The hammer swung, and the next thing the three spectators saw was a performance of god that left them blank.

The young man did not bother about the people and just kept at his work. He was working at neck-breaking speed and efficiency. The sword was prepared in a couple of hours. The blade was the broadest at the back, about two and a half inches, and the tip was narrowest with just one inch.

Valerian played with the sword, and the wind parted quickly. Shiba could not believe that this guy was so skilled at swords. When he finished his inspections, Valerian handed her the sword and said, "You can find some artisan to make you the engravements to make it look fancy."

Shiba was dazed, looking at the silver dragon stamp at the base of the hilt, and asked, "What is this stamp?"

Valerian replied, "My mark. Now you all can leave and come back in five hours. I will prepare the rest of the weapons in peace."

The people did not wish to leave, but Valerian did not move to work till they left.

...

Outside the guild, three people sat in a restaurant discussing Valerian. Viney asked, "Do you think he could deliver his promise?"

Captain nodded heavily and said, "Viney, you ought to be more restrained and polite to him."

Viney wanted to protest when she caught sight of a sword held by Shiba. Suddenly, a young man walked up to them from the side, and this person was wearing full body armor. The young man asked, "Excuse me, may I ask if this blade is for sale?"

The trio was shocked and turned to look at the young man. Shiba shook her head and said, "I apologize, but I have only bought it now. I do not intend to sell it."

The young man smiled and said, "That is understandable. Can you tell me where did you buy this?"

Viney and Shiba were about to deny it when Captain replied, "I will take you to the person who made these weapons, but I cannot guarantee that he will agree to sell you anything."

The young man nodded and thanked the people as he made his introductions.

...

Six hours passed quickly, and the four people arrived at the guild. They moved straight to the forging room. Valerian was surprised to see a new person and said, "You can check your goods. Now hand over the money. I have things to attend to."

Captain knew that Valerian was saying this to get rid of them. He nodded, took out twenty gold coins as promised, and said, "You can pay for the metals from these."

Valerian nodded and picked up his armor, ready to leave. The young man nudged Captian, who said, "Valerian, this young man is Tauras. He needs a high-level blade."

Valerian said while shaking his head, "I think a war ax would be more suitable for him. His muscular build and chaotic aura indicate that he may not be able to handle a sword effectively. Additionally, the scars on his body suggest that he fights recklessly."

The young man nodded repeatedly and asked, "How did you know?"

Valerian pointed at the war ax engraved on his chest. Tauras was shocked and asked, "Brother, you are a genius. I will pay you twenty gold coins if you can prepare a war ax, as you said."

However, he was given a bucket of cold water. Valerian shook his head and replied, "The material here is insufficient. I would like you to procure some star iron and flame stone."

Tauras was surprised and confused. Valerian waved his hand and said, "You can find that material slowly, and I will charge you only ten gold coins. So, the budget should not be a problem."

Tauras chuckled and said, "Budget is not a problem. I did not think this material could still be used together?"

Valerian did not bother with the fact that this guy had some knowledge of forging. He only nodded and said, "You will see when you get me the material."

Tauras nodded and replied, "I can get you the metal tonight."

Valerian disagreed and said, "I will be going to the dungeon. You can leave a message at the counter outside, and I will find you when I come out."

Then the young man was surprised and nodded. Valerian tidied his appearance and left the room. His decision to enter the dungeon shocked the three people too much. They were still standing in a daze. Tauras was the one who woke them up, and they left.

Valerian was nowhere to be found. Taking a deep breath, Captain asked Miss Prim about his whereabouts, and the lady pointed at the piece of paper on the side. The three people were shocked when they saw the paper. Lady Prim said, "That young man has gathered all the details that are needed for this task. Now, I have work please leave."
