Chapter 129: Building Bonds...
Chapter 129: Building Bonds...
Bella was in the house with Lillian, they didn’t have anything in common so they were just staring at each other.
Bella caught Lillian looking at her now and then but she thought nothing of it.
She was most likely just being cautious and who could blame her?
The rain poured yet someone was knocking on their door.
Lillian wanted to respond but Bella went into protective mode and placed a finger over her lips.
Bella didn’t know who it was and it couldn’t have been the others or at least this was what she thought.
Bella didn’t ask who it was and simply snuck up to the door, they didn’t have any peephole so she couldn’t see who it was behind the door.
"She’s so paranoid..." Lillian thought to herself, rolling her eyes as she sunk into the couch.
"Hey! Open up, it’s Carl and the rain is beating my ass out here!" The person introduced himself and Bella’s body immediately relaxed.
From what she has seen or heard, Carl was a good kid so there wasn’t anything to worry about and it was most likely that he came to check in on Lilian.
"It’s your boyfriend," Bella whispered and Lillian raised a brow in confusion before realizing what she meant. Lillian first checked what she was wearing, she looked like a homeless person that just found shelter.
Lillian had to run into the room before the door could swing open, Bella wondered what was up her ass because Lillian always had this I-don’t-care-attitude so seeing her respond in such a fashion was unusual.
"She’s finally acting like a lady..." Bella thought to herself.
Carl entered the house and looked at Bella, she was muscular and part of him was envious of her build but she was also attractive.
"Hi, is Lillian home?" Carl got to the point, trying to look past Bella.
"How about asking to come in before going after the girl?" Bella asked with a raised brow.
Carl chuckled awkwardly because he was still in the rain but he had on a raincoat.
"Can I come in... please?" Carl asked.
He was a normal kid when it came to it but Bella still couldn’t pass him off as harmless.
She had seen what the world turned people to and while Carl was the reason they were and she was grateful to him, she knew she had to be on her toes.
She did find his politeness adorable and she already knew why he was here.
"Sure thing sport..." Bella said and the boy walked past her and into the house.
"I see Mother gave you one of the less fancy accommodations," Carl said as he looked around before allowing his gaze to settle on Bella.
"I could talk to her regarding this if you aren’t comfortable," Carl said, trying to use his influence to show favouritism.
This might be a simple kind gesture from the boy but Bella knew what harm this gesture could do.
They had to be treated like everyone else, this was the fastest way to be accepted in the community and taken seriously.
"That’s fine, we love this setup! It beats that crappy motel we had to stay in..." Bella responded but she caught the boy looking at her wounds.
She couldn’t blame him considering it was there for all to see and she had no intention of hiding it either, she took a deep breath and Carl immediately looked away.
"I-I’m sorry for staring," Carl apologized the moment he realized he was making Bella uncomfortable.
"It’s fine, even I’m surprised I can still walk with all these wounds. You must be looking for Lillian," Bella changed the conversation while not making it obvious.
Carl was content ending the conversation there as well as this wasn’t why he was here.
"Is she home?" Carl asked and Bella nodded.
"She is getting all dolled up for y-!" Bella felt something hit the back of her head. Lillian stopped her from saying any more than she needed to say.
Bella looked around only to see that Lillian had changed into clean clothes even though she retained her baggy clothing style.
She looked a lot cuter than she usually did and Bella saw this as the perfect opportunity to tease her.
"Did you do something with your hair?" Bella asked and she could tell Lillian wanted to kill her by the way she was looking at her.
"I like it, it looks pretty on her..." Carl said but there was nothing sexual in his voice.
This was a genuine compliment and she didn’t know how to react.
"What do you want?" Lillian asked bluntly and Bella couldn’t believe how rude she was.
This was the person that they might very well owe their lives to.
"I came to see how you’re settling in, I didn’t know if I should come after the rain as I was already on my way before it started falling. I could tell it was going to rain so I bought a raincoat with me," Carl said and Bella knew this was how every youthful romance started.
"We’re doing quite well but why are you so concerned about if we’re doing well or not?" Lillian was aggressive and Bella couldn’t believe what she was seeing.
This was something straight out of a high school movie and Bella wanted no part in it.
"Did I do something wrong?" Carl questioned, he could tell by her tone that she either wasn’t in the mood for a conversation or she was angry at him.
"That’s how she shows her love, don’t take it to heart," Bella said as she sat down on the couch but Lillian wasn’t glad about her butting in and gave her the death stare.
"She’s such an awkward kid," Bella thought as she prepared herself for the interaction that was about to transpire.

Jason and Clementine had their moment, Jason managed to empty his balls but it wasn’t as satisfying as he had hoped.
He wanted more but Clementine didn’t share that with him, she had gotten her point across so there was no need to go any further.
Besides, Glenn had woken up and sat right in front of them, Glenn was oblivious to the effects of the coffee because it usually puts him to sleep, this explains why he headed to bed the moment he made it.
He must have had some too or he could have easily been tired but Jason was able to kill his erection in time.
"I’m sorry, I just get so tired whenever I have some of that coffee..." Glenn said to which Jason and Clementine nodded to show that they understood where he was coming from.
"It’s fine but I don’t think the coffee does what you think it does..." Jason said.
"What do you mean?" Glenn asked with a raised brow.
"That coffee has an aphrodisiac that increases the libido..." Jason said and Glenn looked puzzled by this because this was the first time he had heard of this.
"Aphrodisiac like it makes people horny?" Glenn said but he had a second thought regarding this and he just smiled.
"It all makes sense..." Glenn said, almost as if he recalled a memory.
"My wife... She always got in the mood when she had one of my coffees and when I asked her, she told me that watching me make the coffee turned her on," Glenn said.
Jason noticed that his face went from happy to sad in the blink of an eye.
"Your wife... She’s dead, isn’t she?" Jason blurted out and Clementine looked at him with an irritated look, this wasn’t the right thing to say at this moment but there was no taking it back.
"Yeah, she died after the world fell... I thought I wouldn’t be able to live without her but I realized that dying would take away the memories I do have of her. This is why I live, I live to remember her," Glenn said as the faded smile slowly crept up on his face.
"I lost someone too...." Jason said, trying to share in his new friend’s misery.
"It was my brother... I didn’t appreciate him enough when he was alive. I always felt like we had more time, more time to get things right. More time to be better but time was the one thing we never had... There was so much I wanted to say to him and apologize for but death had other plans, he died during the apocalypse," Jason said and this was to encourage Glenn to keep talking.
This was Clementine’s first time hearing this, she didn’t know much about Jason when she thought about it but this was because she planned to leave.
There was no point trying to get to know them, she didn’t need to but this was a piece of the past that she didn’t know he had.
Clementine had no plans on sharing any personal details about herself, she wanted to see just how far this manly show of emotions would go.
"I’m sorry about that man, we have all lost something in this new sick world but we shouldn’t lose ourselves. I chose to become a better man for my wife, the man I wish she had seen. A strong and dependable man that she could lean on for protection, something she could never do while she was alive so now I protect people so they don’t need to go through what I went through... What about you, Jason?" Glenn asked.
"I became a better person, my brother had every reason to abandon me but he didn’t regardless of how much of a screw-up I was. I promised myself after he died that I would never give up on anyone just like him... I was robbed and still risked my life to protect them because I knew I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if I let those men do what they would have done to them and after my brother died, I decided to be better..." Jason said and Clementine finally understood why he gave people so many chances to get better, it was because his brother offered him the same grace.
"I like you, Jason. I did from the moment I saw you..." Glenn said.
"Hey, are you confessing your feelings to me?" Jason teased prompting Glenn to giggle.
"You wish!" Glenn responded and Clementine understood why people were drawn to Jason.
He listened, that was it, he listened.
