Chapter 2934 - 2453: A Call Came from Heath Villa
Knowing full well that he was the jealous type.
Knowing full well how much he minded Frank Parker.
Why did she tell him the truth?
Couldn’t she just deceive him?
After all, he would never really go to Lady Parker and ask.
"It was just a moment of anger between him and Lady Parker, and when I called him, I just gave him an out," Joanna Lawrence glanced at Ashton Heath’s expression while choosing her words carefully, "I just conveyed Lady Parker’s intentions, and then she took over the call."
This meant that it had nothing to do with her, whether or not Frank decided to return.
Not because of her.
So she hoped that someone, who was jealous, wouldn’t harbor resentment for no reason.
"It’s just like that?"
She didn’t know if Ashton Heath trusted her words, at least nothing could be inferred from his tone.
As for his expression, it seemed to improve a bit compared to before.
"Yes," Joanna hurriedly nodded, "Just like that. I talked to him for no more than five sentences."
"Humph, I’ll let it go this time." The man snorted lightly, pinching her soft waist, and his tone was very assertive, "In the future, stay out of his affairs. Moreover, this is an internal matter of the Parker family, which has nothing to do with you."
"It has nothing to do with you what happens between mother and son. If anything similar happens in the future, don’t bother."
"Yes, I won’t interfere in the future." Joanna was like a well-behaved child, listening to whatever Ashton said, "This time I saw Lady Parker crying so sadly, and I just couldn’t bear it."
"But you’re right, it’s their family business, and it has nothing to do with me. Anyway, I won’t meddle in other people’s affairs anymore."
At least, she wouldn’t interfere with Frank’s affairs anymore.
Even though she had a clear conscience with Frank, if someone minded it so much, she would just maintain her distance.
After all, family harmony was more important than anything else.
Of course, her husband was the most important.
Seeing her well-behaved attitude, Ashton Heath finally stopped giving her the cold shoulder, his stern face softened, and his thin lips curved into a doting smile, "Good, baby."
Seeing the crisis resolved, Joanna secretly sighed with relief.
She reached out her hand to hook around the man’s neck, speaking in a soft and coquettish voice, "You haven’t tasted the pastries I made. Give it a try and see if it tastes good. I spent a whole two hours on it; I’m very tired."
"Okay."
Ashton Heath let her go, leaning over to open the lunch box and taking a piece of mung bean-filled pastry out.
The lunch box was insulated, so the mung bean-filled pastry was still warm as if it had just been baked.
Under Joanna’s expectant gaze, Ashton Heath took a bite of the pastry.
"How is it? Tasty?" Joanna blinked her eyes, waiting expectantly for his evaluation.
"Mmm." Ashton Heath swallowed the piece of pastry, his lips curving slightly, "The sweetness is just right. It’s not bad."
Joanna suddenly felt happy, "I knew you don’t like sweets, so I only added a little sugar. Originally, I didn’t want to add any sugar at all, but not using any sugar just doesn’t taste that good."
Ashton Heath had tried all sorts of fine dining, so Joanna’s cooking skills naturally couldn’t compare to those of the world-class chefs who had served him before.
But to Ashton Heath, the pastries made by his wife were the most delicious in the world.

After Ashton Heath got off work, while Joanna was discussing with him what they should have for dinner, someone from Heath Villa called.
The one who called was Tedd.
Joanna watched as Ashton Heath took the call for only a short time before his face suddenly turned awful.
